PERSONALITY! A nice guy with a sarcastic sense of humor and a genuinely good heart. He tries to do his best no matter the circumstances. A little gullible and trusting because he just wants people to like him. Intensely intelligent and deeply curious. Has a fascination for tinkering with random parts and computer code. Occasionally hacker when he gets bored. Talks to rubber ducks when his computer code won't work. Fascinated by making the perfect alcohol to make the perfect magical cocktail.
BIOGRAPHY! Originally Nick went to college to get a degree in Computer Science and AI programming but while studying one day in the library he found a misplaced book: The Devil's Water Dictionary. At first he thought it was a fictional book since it was about perfectly mixed cocktails that gave the drinker magic and demonic creatures that bartenders fought and it was a pretty good story but the more he read the more curious he got. One night, bored and well, mostly bored, he mixed up one of the cocktails in the book just like it said. For a moment he saw the glass glow but whatever magic he had created didn't last and the cocktail was just a cocktail in the end but Nick's obsession had firmly taken root. He began to research, digging through history and myth and legends, to find more information. He realized his problem was the alcohol itself. It wasn't pure enough. He started to look into how to distill his own because the only way he could get real magical powers was with the right alcohol mixed just the right way. And so he graduated college with his very technical degrees and a brewing and distilling hobby that baffled his parents. They also don't know he's converted the garden shed into a small distilling operation. Now he works as an internet security guy at a big brand name company while trying to find an apartment that will allow him to continue his distilling hobby and research into The Devil's Water Dictionary.
